Easy-to-adjust air bag lets you customize this ball mount to get the smoothest possible ride. Air bag and cushioned bumpers absorb road shock, reduce chucking, and help protect your truck and trailer from unnecessary wear and tear.

Notes:
Have you ever hit a bump while towing and had that road shock jostle and shake you all the way down to your bones? It's a common feeling. Most ball mounts are made almost completely of metal, so there's nothing to help soften the shock when you hit a bump. This results in a bumpy, jerky ride that not only takes a toll on you as you drive, but it beats up your equipment too, leading to premature wear and tear on both your truck and trailer.
Fortunately, the Shocker Hitch Air will change all that.
Using a built-in air bag and rubber cushions, the Shocker Hitch Air acts like a small suspension system between your truck and trailer. The air bag and bumpers help absorb road shock, creating a smoother, more comfortable ride while also protecting your truck and trailer from unnecessary wear and tear on the brakes, chassis, trailer frame, and suspensions.
The body of the Shocker Hitch Air is designed to pivot back and forth on the shank, kind of like a seesaw or teeter totter, as the air bag, which sits directly beneath your truck's receiver, and the cushioned bumpers take turns absorbing the road shock.
When you hit a bump and your trailer bounces, the unit pivots so that the air bag can isolate and absorb the energy. When your trailer jerks forward or backward, the 2 cushioned bumper stops help soften the force.
Using the easily accessible air valve on the side of the unit, you can adjust the air pressure in the Shocker Air's air bag to best accommodate your trailer's load. If you're hauling heavy-duty landscaping equipment, for example, you can add air to account for the increased capacity. Once the equipment is unloaded, simply release some air so that your underloaded trailer won't experience a stiff ride.
Finding the right pressure for your setup is simple. Once you've hooked up your trailer and the tongue weight is pushing down on the hitch ball, there will be a gap between the top of the adjustable channel and bumper.
Inflate the air bag until the bumper rests flush against the top of the hitch. Once the gap is gone, you'll know the air bag has the appropriate amount of air pressure for your load.
If you happen to get stuck in a situation where you're unable to inflate the bag, there's no need to worry; you can still tow your trailer. Without the inflated air bag, you won't get the full benefit of the Shocker Hitch Air, but you'll still get some built-in cushion with the bumper stops.
Adjusting the height of the hitch ball to accommodate for a different trailer takes almost no time at all. Just unclip the adjustment pins and grab the easy-to-grasp handles to remove them. Then slide the ball platform up or down to the desired position. Once you have the correct height, reinsert the pins and secure the clips, and fold back the handles so they're out of the way. Then you're ready to go.

Hi, everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look at this Shocker Air Receiver with drop ball mount that'll slide into your two inch hitch receiver. Now, this shock-absorbing hitch features an air bag and cushioned bump stops to help give you a smooth and comfortable ride while limiting chucking and jerking to give you better control of your tow vehicle and your trailer. This is going to also help extend the life of your truck and trailer by protecting them from unnecessary wear and tear. And this is also going to help reduce the noise and rattle that's common when towing with standard ball mounts. Now, as I mentioned, this will slide into your two inch hitch receiver.
I do wanna point out that this will not fit your SUVs, CUVs, or sedans due to limited clearance. This does require a minimum of seven inches of clearance between the center of the hitch pin hole and the rear most part of your truck, and five inches of clearance below the bottom of your receiver tube. Your receiver opening should be flushed with your bumper or protruding from the rear of the vehicle for best fit. Now, this is going to give you a gross towing weight of 12,000 pounds and a tongue weight of 1,200 pounds. But just remember that a towing setup is always limited by its lowest rated component, whether that be your vehicle, your hitch, or another component.
Now, as you probably saw here, we do have these three easy-to-remove pins. What I like about these pins is they do have these large rings. It's gonna be very easy to grasp, you can fit up to four fingers through, at least I can, through these rings, so very easy to hold onto. No more fumbling with small hitch pin heads. We also have large safety clips as well.
And so, this is going to be very easy to adjust this while it's on the back of your truck. You're not gonna be back there struggling trying to get the drop adjustment that you are looking for. This does have a 2 5/16 inch hitch ball. This steel ball is zinc plated. This is going to give you a drop from about 4 1/2 inches to about 8 1/2 inches.
The inside width of our channel is 3 3/4 inches wide. And then the distance between our vertical adjustment holes is one inch. And this is going to be compatible with any Shocker Hitch accessory. And the body of this Shocker Hitch is designed to pivot back and forth on the shank, kind of like a seesaw or a teeter totter. Has the air bag which sits directly beneath your truck's receiver. And then the cushioned bump stops, let me give you an overhead look real quick just so you can see those bump stops a little bit better. So that air bag and these cushioned bump stops are going to work together to absorb the road shock. So when you hit a bump and your trailer bounces, the unit's going to pivot, so that the air bag can isolate and absorb the energy. And then when your trailer jerks forward or backward, the two cushioned bump stops will help soften the force. Now, this bag is going to be easily adjustable. We do have a Schrader valve here that includes a cap here. So this will be very easy to adjust the air in the air bag. So when you are gonna be towing heavier loads, you're just going to add more air, for lighter loads, you'll let air out. To determine the correct amount of air to use, you're just gonna hook your trailer up, and then load the trailer the way that you're going to tow it. And then you're going to add air until these bump stops here at the top begin to compress. Once they begin to compress, then you should have the right amount of air in the air bag for your load, and you'll be ready to go down the road. On the other side here, we do have a grease zerk fitting at the pivot point there that's gonna make lubricating very easy. This is made here in the USA of Grade 50 steel plate construction with a cold-rolled steel shank, give you that maximum durability. This does feature Shocker's safety red powder coat finish. It's an impact-resistant premium powder coat finish on the base frame. And again, this is gonna fit your two inch trailer hitch receiver. The hitch pin hole diameter is 5/8 of an inch. This does include a pin and clip, which is a nice touch. However, since this is really an investment that you're making, I would recommend taking a look at the InfiniteRule locking pins for Shocker Hitch ball mounts. You are going to receive three locking pins, one to secure this to your trailer hitch receiver and two to secure the attachment to the Shocker Hitch itself. This is just going to be a great way to make sure that someone can't come by and yank this off of your vehicle while it's unattended. So if you're interested in taking a look at those pins, I'm including the part number there for you on your screen. You can just take that part number, pop it in the search field of our website. That will take you to those pins, and you can add those to your order if you so desire. Now, just some other measurements that might prove helpful for you. Let me get my ruler here for a few of these measurements. So taking a look at the overall height, we're sitting a little over 11 inches, about 11 1/4 inches from bottom to top. And then measurements that I took before our time together, from the center of our first hitch pin hole to the center of the ball, about 10 1/4 inches. From the center of the second hitch pin hole to the center of the ball, about 11 1/4 inches center to center. And then from the center of the second hitch pin hole to the end of our shank, about 2 3/4 inches. I do wanna point out that this will not fit a 2 1/2 inch hitch even with the reducer sleeve, because trucks with the 2 1/2 inch hitch typically have deeper frames. Well, I think that's gonna wrap up our look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.
